Christy is the very bright, attractive and, for the most part, happy daughter of Ellen Casey Ferguson. When Christy was ten, her father and mother divorced and she has lived with her father ever since, a decision made by Ellen. One of Christy's regrets is that she isn't as close to her mother as she would like to be, something many daughters experience, but few consider a problem. Christy's childhood memories of this side of her family are clouded. It's not that she can't see, it's just that the 20-20 eye sight of a ten year old is tunnel vision. Now at age 21 she is having her eyes opened and, like trying on a pair of shoes that are too small, she's finding that her childhood memories don't fit.
